PACHACAMAC, MAIN DEITY OF THE COAST

Pachacamac was the main religious-administrative center of the central coast for more than a thousand years. The first occupation dates back to 200 AD. for the “Lima Culture”. Its history is indicated in the chronicles of the conquerors and in ethnohistorical documents. Temples, squares, offerings, its cemetery and roads constitute an excellent repository of the memory of the Andean world. It has an impressive view of the Pacific Ocean and is located between the incredible valley of Lurín and the coastal desert, near the river of the same name (Lurín).
