the capital and most important city of the Spanish dominions in South America
The historic center of Lima was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1991, it still preserves a group of old buildings that represent magnificent evidence of the ostentatious progress it enjoyed in past centuries and we can still find some architectural gems behind its facades. They preserve hundreds of years of history.
We will start our pedestrian tour through the old streets of Lima, this area is also known as “El Damero de Pizarro”, our first visit will be the Fernandini House, built on a 700 square meter plot of land, it is considered the most luxurious property of the 1900s. , likewise a great exponent of Art Nouveau, stands out for its beautiful facade covered by mosaics and adorned with scrolls and floral garlands, as well as metal balconies with a modernist artistic trend, built in concrete and brick, it has the first elevator installed in the capital city.
Our second visit will be to Casa Aliaga, this fascinating property has passed through 17 generations in the hands of the same family, the descendants of Don Jerónimo de Aliaga y Ramírez, it is the only property in the entire American continent that has remained inhabited in a uninterrupted for more than 480 years.
